A delegation from UAE led by Dr. Amna bint Abdullah Al Dahak, Minister of Climate Change and Environment, has concluded a two-day official visit to Baku, Azerbaijan, where they met with government officials and private sector representatives to strengthen cooperation in agriculture and livestock development.
This visit was designed to deepen bilateral cooperation across food security, sustainable agriculture, and the livestock sector, building upon the foundations laid by the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between the UAE and Azerbaijan.

Bolstering overall food security by developing resilient food supply chains.
The UAE delegation comprised senior government officials, including Mohammed Saeed Al Nuaimi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MOCCAE); Abdulrahman Al Hawi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Investment; and Mohammed Murad Al Blooshi, UAE Ambassador to the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The Azerbaijani delegation included officials from the Azerbaijan Food Safety Agency (AQTA), and were joined by Narmin Babayeva, Deputy Head of the Analytical Expertise Centre, Azerbaijan Food Safety Institute (AQTI), and Elnur Shukurov from the Trade Representation of Azerbaijan in the UAE.

The engagements strengthened agri-food and livestock trade ties, unlocking new investment and business opportunities.
The UAE-Azerbaijan Food and Agriculture Roundtable served as the centerpiece of the visit, convening senior officials, industry leaders, and private sector representatives to advance strategic collaboration. Company presentations showcased growth prospects and innovative solutions across both markets.

Ahlam Al Manaei of MOCCAE outlined the UAE’s Animal Health and Food Safety Framework, highlighting the Ministry’s oversight of livestock and animal product imports and the approval of international slaughterhouses. Delegates also underscored the private sector’s vital role in bolstering the UAE’s national food security system.
The program included a visit to Qoç ət farm in Lokbatan to review Azerbaijan’s livestock sector and concluded with meetings at the Azerbaijan’s Food Safety Agency and the Food Safety Institute.
