The UAE and Kuwait continue to reinforce their long-standing partnership in civil aviation, underscoring a relationship built on close coordination, shared expertise, and a unified vision for sectoral growth.
Cooperation between the two countries has steadily expanded over the years, positioning them as influential partners within regional and international aviation frameworks. This collaboration reflects the depth of bilateral ties between the two nations, particularly in advancing aviation safety, air transport development, and regulatory alignment.
Their joint efforts have also enhanced their collective presence within key global bodies, such as the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), while supporting regional integration through the Gulf Cooperation Council and the Arab Civil Aviation Organization.
As part of these ongoing efforts, the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), in coordination with Kuwait’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), organized a virtual workshop titled ‘UAE-Kuwait Cooperation Horizons in Civil Aviation.’
The event, held as part of the ‘UAE & Kuwait: Brothers Forever’ Week, brought together more than 200 participants from civil aviation authorities, airports, and related institutions in both countries.
The session was chaired by Captain Talal Johar, Senior Air Carriers Specialist at the UAE GCAA, and featured contributions from Abdullah Al-Rajhi, Deputy Director-General for Aviation Safety, Air Transport, and Aviation Security at Kuwait’s DGCA, alongside Mohammed Al Dossari, Senior Expert for Aviation Safety Affairs at the GCAA. Discussions reviewed the history of bilateral cooperation, existing agreements, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
The workshop focused on future areas of collaboration, including advanced air transport systems, urban air mobility, and the digital transformation of aviation. Participants explored opportunities linked to artificial intelligence, unmanned aerial vehicles, and the development of supportive legislation and infrastructure, with an emphasis on sharing best practices to ensure sustainable outcomes.
During the workshop, speakers reaffirmed both countries’ commitment to strengthening strategic aviation partnerships, advancing national development plans, and keeping pace with rapid global shifts in the sector.
