The UAE and Montenegro have explored strategies to bolster cooperation between the two countries across priority development sectors such as economy, trade, renewable energy, food security, and infrastructure.
During the meeting, held at Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE President, and His Excellency Milojko Spajić, Prime Minister of Montenegro, engaged in discussions to advance the expanding ties between the two countries.
The two sides explored opportunities to enhance bilateral cooperation and foster sustainable economic growth. They also exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues of mutual concern, highlighting the significance of promoting peace, stability, and the resolution of conflicts through diplomatic means.
Zayed Al Nahyan stressed the UAE’s commitment to strengthening its development partnerships with countries in the Balkans, including Montenegro, where the UAE has made key investments, particularly in renewable energy, food security, and infrastructure.
The UAE President also reaffirmed the nation’s support for initiatives that promote peace and serve the stability and prosperity of the region’s countries and peoples.
For his part, Milojko Spajić emphasized Montenegro’s dedication to deepening its relations with the UAE and leverage all opportunities in this regard. The two sides also reaffirmed their mutual commitment to enhancing cooperation for the benefit of both countries and their people.
During the meeting, two bilateral agreements were signed in the fields of economy and tourism. The agreements were signed on behalf of the UAE by His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, and by His Excellency Milojko Spajić, Prime Minister of Montenegro.
The meeting also saw the presence of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs; Reem Al Hashemi, Minister of State for International Cooperation; and a number of senior officials. The Prime Minister of Montenegro was accompanied by a delegation that included several ministers and senior officials.
