A high-level UAE–Namibia Business Forum in Windhoek has strengthened bilateral economic engagement, with senior officials and business leaders outlining new avenues to expand trade, investment, and sectoral cooperation.

Held as part of the UAE Trade and Investment Days, the forum was led by Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, UAE Minister of Foreign Trade, as part of ongoing efforts to expand the UAE’s economic partnerships across Africa.

The engagement brought together key members of the Namibian government, including Selma Ashipala Musavyi, Minister of International Relations and Trade; Modestus Amutse, Minister of Industries, Mines and Energy; Dr. Esperance Luvindao, Minister of Health and Social Services; Veikko Nekundi, Minister of Works and Transport; and Dr. Sanet Steenkamp, Minister of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sport, Arts and Culture.

Trade momentum and sectoral focus

The discussions during the forum examined practical measures to enhance trade facilitation, strengthen logistics connectivity, support value-added production, and increase private-sector participation.

Participants also explored opportunities in mining, renewable energy, infrastructure development, logistics, healthcare, and aviation, sectors that align with Namibia’s diversification strategy and the UAE’s capabilities as a global trade and logistics hub.

Non-oil trade between the UAE and Namibia reached approximately $262 million in 2025, reflecting steady growth in commercial exchange and underscoring the potential to deepen engagement across priority sectors.
