UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has arrived in Tirana for a working visit to the Republic of Albania, where he held high-level discussions with Prime Minister His Excellency Edi Rama on enhancing bilateral cooperation.
The talks, held at the Prime Minister’s Office, the Kryeministria, focused on strengthening the growing relationship between the UAE and Albania. His Excellency Edi Rama welcomed His Highness and the accompanying delegation, expressing confidence that the visit would open new pathways for strategic collaboration and contribute to the development aspirations of both nations.
During the meeting, both leaders reviewed areas of existing cooperation and discussed expanding joint efforts in key sectors such as trade, the economy, renewable energy, food security, and technology. They also exchanged perspectives on regional and international developments, stressing the importance of diplomatic dialogue in resolving conflicts.
The two sides reaffirmed their shared commitment to promoting global peace, security, and stability through deeper international cooperation. His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed highlighted the UAE’s commitment to building robust partnerships across the Balkans, with Albania considered a key partner. He highlighted the UAE’s consistent approach of fostering development-focused relationships based on mutual interests and a shared commitment to peace and prosperity.
As part of the visit, Prime Minister Rama awarded His Highness the ‘Benemerenti’ medal, the highest public honor conferred by the Albanian Prime Minister, in recognition of his vital role in advancing UAE-Albania relations. Prime Minister Rama described the award as a token of Albania’s deep respect and appreciation for His Highness’ leadership and commitment to cooperation.
Earlier in the day, Sheikh Mohamed was received at Tirana International Airport by Prime Minister Rama and senior Albanian officials, marking the beginning of a visit aimed at further solidifying bilateral ties. The two leaders concluded their discussions by reiterating their determination to continue enhancing the UAE-Albania partnership in ways that deliver lasting benefits to their peoples and support long-term regional stability.
