HH Lieutenant General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, held discussions with Daniela Misail-Nițită, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Moldova, on enhancing security cooperation between the two countries.
The meeting addressed prospects for enhancing bilateral cooperation in security and policing between the UAE and Moldova. The meeting was conducted on the sidelines of the World Government Summit 2026 in Dubai.
According to the statement, the discussions focused on areas of mutual interest, including strengthening joint efforts to tackle contemporary security challenges.
Additionally, the two sides explored opportunities to develop partnerships in training, capacity building, and the exchange of expertise. This collaboration aims to further equip both nations in addressing evolving threats and improving overall security capabilities.
UAE and Moldova affirmed that the World Government Summit represents a leading global platform for dialogue and the exchange of visions and experiences among nations, contributing to strengthening international understanding and supporting innovation in government and security work, which positively impacts the security and stability of societies.
The meeting also witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on the recognition and exchange of driving licenses issued by the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Moldova.
The Memorandum of Understanding outlines the mutual recognition and exchange of driving licenses between the UAE and the Republic of Moldova, allowing license holders from both countries to swap their licenses without the need for theoretical or practical tests. This agreement aims to simplify the process for individuals residing or visiting either country, facilitating smoother mobility for driving license holders.
