The social media giant WhatsApp has introduced two new striking features: AI-generated group icons and Meta AI widget, which are currently available to some beta testers.

With the new Meta AI widget, users can seamlessly access its Meta AI chatbot without opening the app. Currently, users need to open WhatsApp and select the Meta AI floating action button to access the AI chatbot.

The chatbot answers questions, generates human-like texts based on prompts, translates text from one language to another, summarizes long pieces of text into concise versions, assists with creative writing tasks, generate images and many more.

The other striking feature lets users create AI-generated group icon, which is now available to some beta testers. The feature enables users to set group photos using prompts. These two features are expected to roll out to all users on WhatsApp for iOS and Android.

The tech giant introduced Meta AI widget on WhatsApp beta for Android 2.25.6.14 update, enabling testers to add this new widget to the home screen. The shortcut feature makes it easier for users to quickly access the Meta AI chatbot, without first having to open WhatsApp.

The AI generated group icon feature is available to some beta testers after updating to WhatsApp beta for Android 2.25.6.10 (via feature tracker WABetaInfo). By tapping on the pencil icon while viewing a group’s existing icon, the users will be presented with a fifth option titled ‘Create AI Image’. This enables them to generate group photo using prompts.
